i have a urinary track infection but i don't want my mom to know i am having sex, can i have it with out sex?
i really don't want my mom to know that i am having sex with my boyfriend, i have been talking to my friend that you can get a urinary track infection from having sex in a dusty or dirty place. im pretty sure that im not but if i have a UTI will my mom find out that i am having sex with him or can it be cause by something else?
i need help!!! ASAP!
You can get a UTI or bladder infection other ways. I advise that you talk to your mom about your symptoms and take you to your family doctor. But, if you do not want to even ask your mom to take you to the doctor, you can always drink cranberry juice. The cranberries turn your urine into a more acidic environment, thus helping to kill the bacteria that is causing the infection. That is only if you have an UTI and not anything else.
I highly advise you to see a doctor though!

other things can cause it. if you have to go to the bathroom and you hold it in for too long, it can cause a uti. my friend is a virgin and she gets them all the time

YES! I always get UTI's when I have sex with a condom and I hate calling my mom to put money in my account for the doctor so I just tell her that I held my pee in for a REALLY long time like all day in classes. You really can get a bladder infection from not peeing all day so that's what I say and she believes me!

Trust me if you are having sex with your boyfriend, your mum already knows.
Just own up and be a grown women and talk to your mother about you being sexually actually and get to a doctor and get that UTI treated

Yes, urinary tract infections can happen even with people who are not sexually active. Sex in general can make people more prone to them, however they are very common even among people who aren't sexually active.

You can get a UTI in mny different ways not just from sex. The number one reason is not wiping from front to back. Hope that this helps. Make sure you get it taken care of because the infection can move up towards your bladder and kidneys.

You can get uti from many things including wiping from back to front, wearing clothes too tight, etc. If you are peeing often and it hurts or burns you need to see your doctor. The only way you can cure a uti is antibiotics and if you don't get it taken care of, it could cause a bladder or kidney infection, which can be life threatening.

UTI's are caused by bacteria entering the urinary tract. The most common way of getting one is generally sexual contact (sex, hand/genital touching, etc.) But you can also get them from taking too many baths, wiping back to front, poor hygiene, and many other ways. Just tell your mom that you need to go to the doc. You need to be open about having sex so you are sure to be safe. If you aren't mature enough (afraid of response?) to have that talk with your mom, find some other adult you trust to talk to. Good luck.

you can get it from many other things like soap holding your urine etc. tell your mom it get worse you will urine blood

Like everyone else is saying.. you can get them from not using the bathroom when you have to go. But a suggestion.. watch your boyfriend.. its not only from a dusty or dirty place.. but it could be that he's dirty also. he may be having sex with someone else.. or he has before you and that could cause it. if it happens again you might want to talk to him.
