I was told I have a urinary tract infection and I am on Cipro but my lower back is hurting so bad but only on one side and I dont have any burning on urination or any fever. The only thing I have is trace of bacteria in my urine and a severe lower back pain. How do they tell the difference? My CBC came back good except for low level of B-12.

hi there, has your doctor concidered the possibility of kidney stones. Its a very simple diagnostic and i think what you are experiencing is renal or uteric colic pains ( which are the pains to your back) as the kidney stones are passing through to your bladder.
It might be a possibility!
Ask yourself this
Did your back hurt when you went to the physicians? did you tell him this if so?
Are you feeling or being sick?
Is your urine bloody or cloudy?
Do you get a frequent erge to urinate?

My urine has a very strong odor to it and it’s a little cloudy, would this be a UTI or kidney infection? I’m not in any kind of pain but I have been suffering from very bad headaches.

UTI and kidney infections can have the same symptoms. UTI mostly are caused from, excuse me for saying this, but, feces getting into the urinary tract so be careful with how you "wipe", if you know what I mean, always front to back. Kidney infections can be caused for different reasons. You really should have the doctor test you to see which one you have since both are treated with antibiotics and the dr. will need to know what you have to treat it. A strong odor and cloudy could mean you are not getting enough water, yes!! water!!! Drink water. Headaches could mean you have some kind of infection going on, but again, you should be checked by your dr. to determine the source of the headaches. Never try to self-diagnos!!!! And, get to that dr!!!

Please help! I am 20 and live on my own right now with a part time job that dosen't even cover my bills so I can't afford to go to the doctor but for the last week Ive had every sign of a urinary tract infection AND a kidney infection. Does anyone have any at home remedy suggestions or things that will at least make me more comfortable so Im not in so much pain? I will appreciate any suggestion

Chamomile tea is believed to cure infections, so drink at least 3 cups of tea at room temperature or if you prefer drink it with ice. It should help relieve the pain and if you have a fever it will help you with that too. I have used this home remedy before and it sure works, so try it out. The first cup that you drink will do the trick, but like I said drink 3 cups for a period of approximately 3 days…you'll be fine! Take care.

About a week ago I passed my kidney stone. Over the last week I’ve had slight irritations, sometimes ‘slightly’ uncomfortable, but nothing at all painful or very uncomfortable. Is it just my Ureter healing, etc or could I have a Urinary Tract Infection? I am a male.

If you had an evasive procedure you could very well have a UTI. Although, I think it is just normal discomfort with healing.

what does it mean if my kidney(the bottom right side of my back) started hurting due to a urinary tract infection? Almost like a cramp or pulled muscle.

If you don't get antibiotics for the UTI, then the infection moves up into your kidneys. Don't put off going to the Dr, causes it leads to your kidneys shutting down. I know from experience as a college student who didn't want to fork out the money to see the Dr and it cost me a whole lot more in the long run.
