Are there any natural remedies out there to treat UTI’s and stop them from coming back?

I have had great success with cranberry- BUT YOU HAVE to catch it before it gets bad. At the first inkling you should Drink cranberry juice, take the capsules of cranberry extract, drink lots of water too. Watch what you are doing prior to getting a UTI… you may have gotten dehydrated, may have waited too long to go to the restroom. Cranberry makes the lining of the urinary tract slippery so that bacteria can’t adhere to the walls and cause an infection. Make sure that your privates are very clean before sex, the vagina is very near the urethra and bacteria can get pushed up. Go to the water closet after sex too! Try to alkalize your body with a diet of mainly vegetables and little meat, sugar, dairy and things that turn to acid in the system AND of course use Therapeutic quality essential oils regularly. If you already have a bad one- you may need that Dr. to get you through this one… THEN pay attention!

I was told I have a urinary tract infection and I am on Cipro but my lower back is hurting so bad but only on one side and I dont have any burning on urination or any fever. The only thing I have is trace of bacteria in my urine and a severe lower back pain. How do they tell the difference? My CBC came back good except for low level of B-12.

hi there, has your doctor concidered the possibility of kidney stones. Its a very simple diagnostic and i think what you are experiencing is renal or uteric colic pains ( which are the pains to your back) as the kidney stones are passing through to your bladder.
It might be a possibility!
Ask yourself this
Did your back hurt when you went to the physicians? did you tell him this if so?
Are you feeling or being sick?
Is your urine bloody or cloudy?
Do you get a frequent erge to urinate?

Medical Malpractice and Patient Education Company Patient ED @ 617-379-1582 INFO
Your doctor has recommended that you undergo a Cystoscopy. But what exactly does that mean?
The lower urinary tract allows your body to store and release urine.
It’s made up of two parts, the bladder and the urethra.
Your bladder is a hollow organ that expands as it fills with urine. Because it is made of muscular tissue, it can also contract and force urine to pass out of the body, through the urethra. Your urethra carries urine from the bladder to the outside of your body.
Your doctor feels that it is necessary to examine the interior of the urethra and bladder, to try to determine the cause of a problem that you may be having.
Medical Malpractice
Symptoms that may call for a routine Cystoscopy include:

    * Persistent infection of the urinary tract
* Bladder stones
* Bleeding while urinating
* Irritation due to polyps, or
* Changes to the bladder caused by cancer.
Medical Malpractice
Cystoscopy is a simple procedure during which your doctor will insert a well-lubricated, instrument called a cystoscope through your urethra and into your bladder.
The cystoscope allows your doctor to visually inspect the interior of your bladder. It also allows your doctor to remove small pieces of tissue for later examination and even to crush small bladder stones, should any be present.
Any tissue that your doctor removes from your bladder will be sent immediately to a laboratory for analysis. Your doctor will ask the laboratory to check for any sign of cancer or other abnormality.

Hi,

The suggestions to drink cranberry juice and water are good – find unsweetened cranberry juice though because too much sugar will defeat the purpose.

A powerful but natural remedy for infection is called colloidal silver. It was used by the medical profession for hundreds of years as an effective antibiotic before the invention of prescription antibiotics.

One of the cool things about colloidal silver (colloidal means tiny particles suspended in a liquid) is that it only nukes the nasty bugs instead of killing all the good things in your body too like prescription antibiotics do.

This is a suggestion. You should look into colloidal silver on the Web.

My husband had a gnarly chest infection last year and colloidal silver was the thing that finally handled it.

Cheers,
BB

i have a urinary track infection so i have to go to the doctors tomorrow. But there is one thing……..all the doctors at the walk in clinic are all males. I know this beacuse i have been there about 5 or 6 times before. I'm not sure what to do beacuse im not comfortable with telling a male doctor that my vagina hurts when i pee =/
please any advice on what i should do?? lol this is quite embarassing/

Just ask him if he could take a urine sample and run some tests to see if everything is okay. It should take about 20 minutes if he takes it to the lab then and they can tell if you have a UTI and they will notify him

Hi there,

I have had an UTI since June 2nd. I get them a lot, and can only avoid them if I pee immediately after sex, which I just forgot to do. Normally I go to the doc right away, but right now I have no health insurance until July 14th and I can't afford to. I've been drinking lots of water and cranberry juice and taking alka seltzer and goldenseal (herbal supplement) to try and get rid of it, but it just keeps fading then coming back stronger. I don't want it to turn into a kidney infection, but I'm wondering if it would be safe to hold out until I get insurance before I go to the doc. Right now it is a little painful but liveable, just don't want to risk getting an infection. Thanks for any help, it's much appreciated, and if you have any better treatments to suggest that are not too costly, I would appreciate it.
thanks for all the advice…it's not getting worse, and I have seens cystex before wondered if it worked at all. At this point it seems to be lessening so I think I will take the cystex and switch to cranberry pills…thanks for the advice to take it right after sex, its a pain to try and pee right after…sometimes i just don't have to go.

GO IMMEDIATELY TO YOUR DOCTOR.

Home remedies will not work and you'll end up having it move up into your kidneys. Then it's hospital time. Go see your doctor NOW!

P.S. — If you use a spermicide, it can contribute to UTIs. So can a diaphragm (does anyone use those anymore?). Talk that part over with your doc, too.

I 've purchased AZO and it didn't work. Any ideas? anyone?

The AZO is only a pain reliever. You have an infection and the longer you wait to see a doctor, the more severe the the infection .You can end up in kidney failure and no one wants that.

It is an old wives tale to drink cranberry juice. Do not drink it after you have the infection. It is too acidic for your body right now.

After you are better, you can use cranberries to help keep infections from returning.
I wish you the best.

I know I just asked a question about what I might have, but if I do have this infection, should I see a doctor as soon as possible, or try juice for a while and see if things work out? Thanks!

SEE A DOCTOR NOW!
DON'T DELAY!

An untreated bladder infection can quickly turn-into a kidney infection. Kidney infections could not only damage the kidneys, but can turn-into sepsis (blood poisoning). Once the infection is in your blood, it can be fatal.

A dear friend's mother DIED in November from "just a bladder infection" because she kept putting off going to the doctor. By the time she was admitted to the hospital, the infection was throughout her body via the bloodstream.
