Purchase some supplements from your local drug store, such as d-mannose and garlic tablets to help fight the UTI. Cleartract makes the walls of the bladder slick so that bacteria has a harder time sticking to it. Garlic has natural antibacterial qualities.
References :
http://informationinfor.50webs.com/UTI.html

Irritation in the urethra and cramping of the bladder muscles. It will go away with time and antibiotics. Try a heating pad to get some relief for now. Good luck! I myself HATE uti's . It's not fun! Drink d-mannose and read up on how to prevent them from now on! :)
References :
33 year old who's been through ALOT including uti's.

Symptoms of UTI include a frequent urge to urinate and a painful, burning feeling in the area of the bladder or urethra during urination.

It is not unusual to feel bad all over—tired, shaky, washed out—and to feel pain even when not urinating. Often women feel an uncomfortable pressure above the pubic bone,.

Some men experience a fullness in the rectum. It is common for a person with a urinary infection to complain that, despite the urge to urinate, only a small amount of urine is passed. The urine itself may look milky or cloudy, even reddish if blood is present.

Normally, a UTI does not cause fever if it is in the bladder or urethra. A fever may mean that the infection has reached the kidneys. Other symptoms of a kidney infection include pain in the back or side below the ribs, nausea, or vomiting.

The pain and burning is cause by the frequency and urge to urinate and spasmodic contractions of the urinary bladder.
References :
professional nurse
