You should be either drinking unsweetened cranberry juice or taking two capsules of the freezer dried cranberry capsules. Also, if you add probiotics to your daily regime of supplements it can help out tremendously with UTI's. If you are a person who gets them often, you should look into doing a treatment of Uva Ursi Infusion (like a strong brew of tea)made at home with the dried leaves. http://www.susunweed.com/herbal_ezine/february04/childbearing.htm

For directions on making an infusion, pour one boiling quart of water over one ounce of herbs, then screw on the lid and let sit for eight hours. Drink one cup of this infusion every twelve hours for the first two days, or in severe cases, one cup every four hours. Continue with at least one cup daily for another three days, even if the symptoms disappear sooner. Do not use Uva Ursi for more than ten days.

I know some women who used this remedy once and didn't have another infection for years, myself included in that and I used to get them really often. I used this drink during my third pregnancy and it was really great. Now I don't get them like before, and in fact have only gotten one since I used Uva Ursi.
