Oh the myths involved with this one! It has nothing to do with being "dirty". It has nothing to do with "too much sex" what ever that might be. It does have to do with the way women are built and with friction, and with heat and with miosture and with bacteria. So if you like sex (we that do are blessed) and you are prone to UTIs (we that are are cursed – lol) be sure to
1. wipe your equipement from front to back
2. do stay dry (cotton undies – if you wear them)
3. do use soap and water daily (to keep the bacteria away)
4. do visit the cat box right after intercourse or any sexual stimulation
5. drink lots of fluids – keeps things from becoming stagnant
6. when you drink avoid caffiene, sodas
If you do the above there really should be no such thing as TOO MUCH SEX.

It isn't really too much sex that causes them, its all teh bacteria that gets in there…so the more sex, the more bacteria. Just make sure you go to the bathroom as soon as you can afterwards. When you urintate it helps clear it out. Also, get some d-mannose supplements and take them whenever…they will help even if you don't take them in their recommended dosages and times.

I believe so it should be done in moderation.

Only if your not clean about it, I used to get them a lot and my doc told me to go pee afterward and so I do that along with taking a shower and drinking Cleartract in the morning. Good Luck!

It's the heat and friction that cause the infection. It's recomended that you try to urinate as soon as you can after intercourse to help prevent this.

yes……dont ever involve in sex during periods !! because female urinary tract is the store house of microbes like trichomonas vaginalis ,candida species etc. which can cause many infections including urinary tract infections in males 2..also wash off the area well with soap n water after intercourse.there is also risk of sexually transmitted diseases in both sexes !

Yes, the other responders are correct. Urination will help clear out most bacteria.
I read to go before and after sex.
It wouldn't hurt to take a quick shower. Not always convenient, but helps if you get reaccuring UTI's.
Cleartract is good. and ALWAYS drink water.
References :
It's not the amount, but the technique. Adequate foreplay leading to proper lubrication should help; anal penetration followed by vaginal is dangerous. Drink plenty of water during the breaks to flush bacteria out of the plumbing.

No, unclean genital areas on women and men can cause UTIs. Also, go to the bath room as soon as you are done, this will help flush out any germs that could have entered. It may kill that "moment" but is worth dodging a UTI. Learned from experience.
