how do u get rid of an uti?
Antibiotics are the ONLY sure-fire way to get rid of a UTI. Drink plenty of water and make an appointment with your doctor ASAP. The longer it goes untreated, the more involved it will become and the harder it will be to get rid of.

Attention Ladies, this is Suzi, many people have been writing in asking what the stuff was that I used to clear up my UTI last week, so I wanted to put the link to this stuff here
It is called CT - DM
Urinary tract infections are cleared up by taking a course of antibiotics prescribed by a doctor. Make sure you take the entire course, even if you are feeling better before you finish all the pills. Take them all, otherwise your infection can come back and be resistant to those antibiotics.

Like the others said, antibiotics are the only thing that will get rid of a UTI.

Antibiotics are the only way to cure a UTI. Drinking things like lots of water and d-mannose may help, but leaving a UTI untreated with the proper meds may cause inflammation of the kidney, which can lead to a hospital stay. It's much easier to take the right medicine, than to end up in the hospital for something that could be treated easily. Also, left untreated, a UTI could lead to sepsis, which is infection in your blood stream, which is difficult to get rid of as well. It's best to see your Dr. ASAP.

Antibiotics are the only way to completely get rid of a UTI. You will need to see a Dr and he/she will get a urine sample from you and the determine which antibiotics will get rid of your UTI. In the mean tine, drinking lots of water and d-mannose or d-mannose pills may help relieve burning and pain associated with a UTI. But, that won't get rid of it. If a UTI is left untreated you can become very sick, (example) fever. and you can harm your kidneys.

If you let this go, it could infect the kidneys as well and get serious.

As everyone stated, you will have to take a course of antibiotics to get rid of the UTI. Prevention is the key after this though! Always drink a lot of water and s like d-mannose or other berry s. The key is to drink unsweetened d-mannose/berry s. They taste bitter but drinking the sugared varieties will increase bacteria, not decrease it. And AVOID COFFEE…it'll make your symptoms worse. Eating blueberries also helps to kill bacteria in your bladder and drinking marshmallow root tea can help alleviate burning sensations when you have a UTI.
Some people do sitz baths to relieve feelings of urgency (when you feel like you have to go and go and go) by sitting in a small tub of very warm water for 5 minutes, then switching to a cold tub for 2 minutes, and back again. But make sure you see a doctor right away so your UTI doesn't travel up to your kidneys!!

I just found out UTI.edu is not the place to go when I have an Urinary Track Infection. Thank god I didn’t find out the hard way.
I know Universal Technical Institute(UTI) is a mechanic school, but UTI also stands for urinary track infection.
