Cranberry juice always works really well. It might be a bit sharp, but try it undiluted. Drink plenty of it, and some plain water.
The key to getting rid of the infection is to pee it out. It might be painful but you can gradually feel it getting better.

Drink plenty of fluids- water that is. There are some over the counter medications you can try as well. Depending on the severity of your symptoms consider seeing a doctor as well.

what i did once i drank a whole gallon of water at one time and peed like a river. It worked and was gone. I never went to dr. But it will be uncomfortable filling your bladder. It did flush it out. Otherwise, go to the Dr! Get an antibotic! Drink cranberry juice too! Lots of water!

Drink lots of fluids to flush out the infection. I know its painful to pass urine when you have a UTI but it will help. Cranberry juice in particular is good. You may want to consider taking cranberry tablets in the future to help prevent getting a UTI again. You can buy them in places like Boots, Superdrug etc.

you can go to your local drug store and pick up over the counter UTI medicine really inexpensively. They are the same formula your doctor would give you and will take the pain away relatively fast. Hope you feel better.

If you are just at the beginning of your infection you can take 1tsp of baking soda diluted into 8 oz of water. The sodium bicarbonate will offset the acid in your system and help to calm things down.

There is NO home remedy for a UTI and anyone that tells you that Cranberry juice is good enough is putting your life in danger.

I get UTI’s all the time due to a neurogenic bladder and the first mistake I made was believing Cranberry juice was good enough. I did not pay attn to symptoms and I ended up in the hospital with a full blown kidney infection and septic – which means that is spread thru the blood stream
another example was the same sort of thing, my sister left it untreated and was in the hospial for a week, and the infection didnt want to heal. So they were talking surgery then and/or draining the pus thru surgery.Because she left it untreated! She now may need a kidney transplant and 1 yr later still having problems getting rid of it.
she then had to have a picc line pumping antibiotics for a month, she was literally knocking on deaths door.
    the pain is horrific

SO prevent all of this and just call for an antibiotic – it will save a lot of problems.

Neither home remedies nor even over the counter pharmacy remedies are really safe when trying to deal with a UTI. Before we go one step further cranberry juice is USELESS, it neither treats nor prevents urine infections.

The problem is that a few infections manage to ascend the ureters and reach the kidneys. Here the bacteria can cause pyelitis or pyelonephritis. This can permanently scar the kidney. repeated untreated episodes can eventually result in renal failure. Also very occasionally the bacteria then enter the circulation and can cause septicaemia.

A simple 3 day course of antibiotics clears the problem, ideally with lots of any clear fluids to help flush it out.
