Drink lots of fluids, lay off of the sodas and do drink cranberry juice. Take over the counter AZO, it will ease the pain, but will not get rid of the infection. Please take care of it before it goes to your kidneys. Also, a tip for sexually active women, please urinate asap after sex. It prevents cystitis (which is a bladder infection) and clears the urethera of bacteria. Hope you feel better. Also try citrus soda (urine alkalinator) for symptomatic relief. Try the cran-light. Sometimes the full-strength stuff is too syrupy, but it works. You can always dilute it. There are some over the counter cranberry pills too.
