Problems after urinary track infection?

My cat came home from the vet about a week ago. he had a urinary blockage. now he takes turns peeing in the litter box and my bed. im not sure what to do. i know he was really sick but i cant deal with it i just bought my bed.

My cat did this for a long time Hon. Go to your local health food store and get her some cantharis. It is a homeopathic treatment and also have your vet check her thyroid. That is what caused my cat to do this. She is now on thyroid meds and doesn't do it anymore and I give her cantharis once a day and that helps keep her kidneys healthier. She used to pee on my pillow EVERYDAY, so I know how you feel. Also, put her in her CLEAN box five or six times a day and she will eventually know that is where to go and not on your bed. This is coming from someone who has been where you are at and this worked for us. So please try it. Get her thyroid checked soon as that can cause all kinds of problems..

Attention Ladies, this is Suzi, many people have been writing in asking what the stuff was that I used to clear up my UTI last week, so I wanted to put the link to this stuff here

Check in with the vet. My cat had a blockage – not sure what treatment your cat had (surgery or antibiotics) but sometimes follow-up treatment is needed. My cat needed another round of antibiotics after surgery. Sometimes follow-up is needed if it doesn't resolve right away.

He might have crystals. If he's peeing on your bed, that's his way of telling you he's still sick. What a great way to get your attention, right!? He may need antibiotics to get rid of the infection, and a short round of steroids to get rid of the crystals. Is he by chance an orange tabby? For some reason they are very prone to these kinds of things. As far as protecting your bed until he's well, go get one of those mattress protectors and put in under your sheets and blankets. You will still have to wash the other stuff, but at least your mattress won't get ruined! If there are already stains on it, you can try taking it outside in the sunshine, and using a pet stain removing product, then leave it in the sun to dry. Good luck to you and your kitty!
