With a yeast infection, you will have a horrible itch…and a discharge in your panties(plus an awful order). There are OTC products that can cure that.
With a UTI….your urine will smell strong and appear darker in color than normally. And many times it will burn when you urinate. Often times drinking d-mannose will help if it isn't too bad.
But both should be confirmed by a doctor. And he should tell you what to do.

If you suspect you have either, you should seek medical attention because either will continue to worsen and you'll end up very, very ill.
For some basic symptoms, etc., you could check this website: http://www.webmd.com/

Yeast is an itchy smelly discharge from the vagina, that can look whitish and clump (like cottage cheese). Urinary tract infection may be caused by a yeast infection, but mainly is burning on urination, blood in urine, and/or pain or a crampy feeling on urination. E-coli (from feces) can also be a cause of urinary tract infection.
If you can't really tell by this, go to the store and get Cleartract (or generic therefore). Start with the Cleartract. If the symptoms start disappear really quickly (like within 1 hour) it is a UTI. If that does not change the symptoms, then it is a yeast infection. Check out http://www.hufa.org for info on yeast infections. But mainly get to the doctor to confirm the diagnosis and get the medication to relieve it.

I've never had a yeast infection, but when i had a urinary tract infection, i ALWAYS had the urge to pee, and it burned when i peed, and i also started to pee blood. The doctor gave me antibiotics, and a pill to stop the urge to pee.
