I never heard that but drink cranberry juice. It has to be 100% juice though. If its bad enough you better go to the doctor.

Thats a myth. Cranberry juice works well to help, but if you've already got a full UTI, you need to see a doctor for some antibiotics to cure the pain.

Lots of water, garlic capsules and cranberry tablets can often clear one, but if you're in a lot of pain, you should get Macrobid from your doctor. It can travel up to your kidneys and cause a serious and life threatening problem. I find I can prevent them by ALWAY being adequately hydrated and always peeing right after sex to get rid of bacteria.

No. I am a pharmacist and I am certain that if you really have a UTI Alka-seltzer will not cure it, even if the aspirin in the product makes you feel a little better. UTI's need an antibiotic for proper treatment.

No and if it did, it wouldn't be an over the counter drug. Pharmaceutical sales is a multi billion dollar business!! Alka Seltzer is not a contender against the heavy weight antibiotics like Bactrum and Zithromax (just a few used to treat UTI). Seek the help of a physician because a UTI can progress to a very painful and incapacitating Kidney infection

AlkaSeltzer? Never heard that myth. I currently have a urinary tract infection from a cathetar used during recent surgery, and cranberry juice, garlic etc doesn't help either once it's in place. believe me. They are good as a preventative measures to keep the bacteria from setting up camp, but once they're there, you must have antobiotics to get rid of the infection. I'm currently taking Amoxycillan for it and it seems to be working great!

Sorry, you have to see a doctor to determine what type of infection you have. Home remedies in the vaginal area are always a bad idea, because you can cause a secondary infection. Take the time and spend the money, if necessary, to find out what you really have. If untreated, these infections can lead to permanent kidney or bladder damage. Then you'd have to go on dialysis, and talk about a real inconvenience, expense and waste of time! Good luck.
