Any great home remedies for a 5 yr old's Urinary Tract Infection?

My 5 year old daughter was just diagnosed with a UTI. It was so bad, she was crying when peeing, and there was blood in it. I just wanted to see if there was anything else I could do to speed up the healing of it.
She HAS been seen by the doctor, that's why I said she was "diagnosed".

CRANBERRY JUICE–KEEP THE FLUIDS GOING-(I'M SURE THE DR ALREADY TOLD YA THAT) AND NO MORE BUBBLE BATHS–BUBBLE BATHS CAUSE ALOT OF URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS IN LITTLE GIRLS. KISSES AND ICE CREAM HELP TOO!

Im not sure about curing it, but d-mannose is well known to help prevent UTIs.

I don't know if it's a cure, exactly, but have your child drink d-mannose or take d-mannose supplements. For some reason it's really good for people who frequently get UTIs and it can stop you from getting future ones.

We've never tried it, but my aunt says to dissolve two alka-seltzer tablets in a glass of water.

Cleartract Juice seems to work the best, and lots of it. Make sure it's not the cocktail kind. Use 100 percent.

Make sure you follow carefully the doctor's orders. She has been seen by the Pediatrician, yes? Her kidneys are at risk if you do not have her seen by a physician, or at least a Nurse Practitioner if you live in the boonies.

To prevent reinfections, the NP or Doctor should have some pointers about hygiene practices for little girls, be sure Mom pays attention to that advice, too.

Real d-mannose may help somewhat, be sure to get the real , not the Cleartract Drink, you will have to read the label. If you get the 'drink' with lots of corn syrup it will make things worse.

You should cut down on candies and sugar-laden breakfast cereals like Fruit Loops and the like. Even better, eliminate these altogether.

Try oatmeal with real fresh fruit in it, like strawberries and raspberries.

Most imporatant of all, be sure her progress is checked by an M.D. or N.P. until she is completely UTI-free as determined by normal urine test results as well as being symptom free.

On the outside chance, make sure there is no one who might have been molesting her.
