How would you treat a UTI in a cat?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: urinary tract infection cause

If you suspect your kitty has a UTI , is there anything you can do at home or get over the counter, or does the vet have to see them and give you something?

You should bring your cat to the vet so he can perscribe him or her some antibiotics.

What causes the bladder area to ache during uti?

I have a uti but this is the first one I have had pain near the pube area, dull ache. What causes this during a uti?

Symptoms of UTI include a frequent urge to urinate and a painful, burning feeling in the area of the bladder or urethra during urination.

It is not unusual to feel bad all over—tired, shaky, washed out—and to feel pain even when not urinating. Often women feel an uncomfortable pressure above the pubic bone,.

Some men experience a fullness in the rectum. It is common for a person with a urinary infection to complain that, despite the urge to urinate, only a small amount of urine is passed. The urine itself may look milky or cloudy, even reddish if blood is present.

Normally, a UTI does not cause fever if it is in the bladder or urethra. A fever may mean that the infection has reached the kidneys. Other symptoms of a kidney infection include pain in the back or side below the ribs, nausea, or vomiting.

The pain and burning is cause by the frequency and urge to urinate and spasmodic contractions of the urinary bladder.

Whats the difference between cystitis and a UTI?

i was just wondering what the difference is between cystitis and a UTI? i used to get UTI’s a lot when i was younger, i hadnt had any for ages but over the past few months ive had 3 and a few people had said it could be cystitis… whats the difference and how do i know which one it is? thanks for any help

Basically, cystitis is inflammation in your bladder. It is caused by frequent UTIs, but then it’s like a cycle: when you have that inflammation, you are more prone to keep getting UTIs. Just make sure that you really kick your UTIs by taking ALL of your antibiotics, and be clean! (you know, the basics: wipe only from front to back, make sure you pee after you have sex, etc.) Also, you can prevent UTIs by drinking lots of water, drink cranberry juice (it really does help!), and I know it’s kind of gross, but drink a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar regularly. You really can’t taste it that much if you drink it mixed in a big glass of water. Hope this helps!!

I just started antibiotics for a uti. How long does it take to work on the pain?

I have severe pain in my abdomen over the pube area from this uti. Its horrible. Anybody ever have this constant ache there with a uti?

Antibiotics don’t do anything for the pain, they fight the infection. You may want to try some tylenol or advil for the pain.

Why do I still have a UTI after 2 rounds of different antibiotics?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: urinary tract infection cause

I had a bladder infection (UTI) about a month ago and was prescribed Bactrim. I thought the Bactrim got rid of the UTI but a few days after I had finished my dose, my symptoms came back. The second time I was prescribed Cipro. I finished my 10 day dose and now a few days later, my symptoms are back again! I have never had this happen before! I followed the directions of both medications.

The antibiotics you have taken may not have been the right kind of antibiotic for the type of bacteria which caused your infection. You may need to have another urinalysis done with a urine culture. Once the urine culture comes back, which takes a few days, the doctor will know what bacteria is growing in your urine. They will do what is called a sensitivity to determine which antibiotics that bacteria is sensitive to. Once they figure it out, they will know what other antibiotic to prescribe to kill that bacteria.

You may also need to pay attention to what may be causing your UTI’s. Sometimes a soap you are using can cause them, make sure you wipe from front to back after you go to the bathroom to prevent the spread of bacteria from your back side, and always use new towels and washcloths each time you shower. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids to help flush the bacteria out. It is also recommended you shower instead of taking a bath and wear cotton underwear instead of silk or satin, as the cotton allows more airflow and isn’t as hot. The warmer an area is, the greater the chances of a bacteria growing.

Good luck and feel better soon! I hope this answer helps!

How long should it take for the homeopathic treatments to cure my UTI?

This is day 3 of the UTI (and UTI treatment). I have been taking 2 cranberry pills, a green foods vitamin, 2 probiotics, oregano oil, and a liquid diuretic with every meal and I am still p*ssing razors. A also have been drinking a minimum of 1 cups of water a day. How long should it be before I start to see results?

The question is how many cranberry pills are you taking daily? I have never heard of taking probiotics or oregano oil for UTIs. Get off everything but the cranberry pills and take two of them everyday and lots of water, take two pills everyday for three days, your UTI should start to clear, but continue on with this for five days, if it does not correct its self then there is something else wrong also. The oregano oil is for infections but usually for strip throat, and the proboitics are for your bowel to put health micro-flora into your intestines, the probiotics are probably causing the cranberry to be interrupted and not able to fully work. Cranberry works every time I use it this way and it completely heals the UTI. I hope this helps you.

How can I avoid a uti while trying to concieve?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: urinary tract infection cause

I have a really touchy urinary tract, and I have a very good chance of getting a uti if I don’t pee right after sex. But my husband and I are going to try and get pregnant next month! Obviously, I can’t go to the bathroom after sex next month!!! Anybody else have this issue, and were you able concieve without giving yourself a nasty uti?

I always pee right after sex and it didnt hurt my chances of getting pregnant, they say laying there with your hips elevated increases your chances, but has not been actually proven. just b/c you get up and pee doesnt mean the sperm is all going to come out, as sperm can live 3-5 days….so I think you will be fine…I never once waited to pee after sex when ttc and we got pregnant the 2nd month of trying….

How do tell the difference between a UTI and a Kidney infection? Could either cause migranes?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: urinary tract infection cause

My urine has a very strong odor to it and it’s a little cloudy, would this be a UTI or kidney infection? I’m not in any kind of pain but I have been suffering from very bad headaches.

UTI and kidney infections can have the same symptoms. UTI mostly are caused from, excuse me for saying this, but, feces getting into the urinary tract so be careful with how you "wipe", if you know what I mean, always front to back. Kidney infections can be caused for different reasons. You really should have the doctor test you to see which one you have since both are treated with antibiotics and the dr. will need to know what you have to treat it. A strong odor and cloudy could mean you are not getting enough water, yes!! water!!! Drink water. Headaches could mean you have some kind of infection going on, but again, you should be checked by your dr. to determine the source of the headaches. Never try to self-diagnos!!!! And, get to that dr!!!

Can a UTI effect a home pregnancy Test and How?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: urinary tract infection cause

My friend has missed her period, and has taken 2 test and both negative but she also has a UTI……Is there anyway that the UTI is messing with the Test Results.

Having a UTI will not effect the outcome of a pregnancy test, but could be the reason your friend has not had her period yet. Have her wait a week after finishing the antibiotics if still no period and pregnancy test is still negative she should give her dr a call, as there might be a different underlying issue.
