Urinary Tract Infection with other symptoms… Is this serious?

I have a urinary tract infection. But at the same time I have this stomach ache high up in my belly and back pain in the very middle of my back. Are these all related or is it just coincidence?

The infection may be progressing to your kidneys. If that is the case, you will need to be hospitalized and given IV antibiotics. It is not wise to ignore the symptoms of a urinary tract infection. Sometimes you can beat it if you force fluids for two days, but if symptoms have not disappeared in two days, it is important to get to a doctor for oral antibiotics.

If you have a sharp back pain.. like someone stabbing you in the back.. it is probably a kidney infection and you need to get IV antibiotics!! Go to the ER!

This is an indication that your kidneys could also be infected, and no this isn't good. Should go get it checked out soon as possible. You also can get hypertension if your kidneys are not working properly. If a kidney and urinary infection are let go too long, it is very hard to clear the infection up and cause a stay in the hospital.

Back pain in the middle of the back could well be kidneys, so part of the uti. Back in the old days when they did a large double blind study of vitamin "C", they had a few people with terrible uti's, and the ones on vitamin "C" to tolerance saw their UTI's clear up in a few days. Vitamin C is secreted renally, so when you are giving your body as much C as it can stand, there is a lot being dumped through the kidneys. Take about a gram every hour or so until you notice loose stool. That amount per day is your tolerance. It is usually about 10 grams per day. I'm not sure if the "Stomach ache" is related or not.

The aches and pains are related to the UTI. The UTI affects your bladder and eventually your kidneys. Most of the time, when you get a UTI you will feel pain in your abdomen. You should see a doctor immediately to treat the UTI – if you don't, it could lead to kidney failure. When you go to the doctor, he will give you antibiotics for the UTI and also a pain reliever.

    It is VERY serious!!!!!

I had the same situation as you have now.
and i went to ER many times.coz i had fever at the last moment and my stmoach became bigger coz too much gas in my belly…they gave me different diagnose..anway..after they OPENED my belly..they found i had peritonitis….very dangerous!

I guess your infection started from urinary tract..then infrection didnt control very well, also.inflection goes up to your belly and other organs around urinary system..
    GO TO SEE DOCTOR now…

Hope you will be fine soon…

You do not mention whether you are male of female. If you are female chances are that at some time you will be confronted with recurrent cystitis (UTI). And yes the tree symptoms are consistent with cystitis, but you do not mention the most important one: pain when urinating. This leads me to consider some other not so good possibilities like pyelonephritis (kidney infection). See an internist or nephrologist STAT.
