The pain is really unbrearable, it actually makes me cry ![]()
i'm pregnant so I can't take anything strong. My doctor prescribed some safe pain pills but they do nothing for me…
Are there any good safe home remedies I could try?
(I am taking antibiotics, but it seems to not help with the pain)
The pain began yestrday and this is only my 3rd antibiotic pill and pain killer I take, but no improvement yet and it hurts really bad ![]()
What painkiller?
See if you can't get Pyridium. Pregnancy Category 'B,' thus — fairly safe.
"Reproduction studies have been performed in rats at doses up to 50 mg/kg/day and have revealed no evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus due to Phenazopyridine HCl."

The 'Cleartract' people have recommended is a weaker OTC version thereof; not found OTC in all countries. There's also something called 'Pyridium Plus,' which has some other drugs thrown in; one's a barbiturate — ask about it only if desperate.
But, you did ask about home remedies. Cleartract is better as preventative than painkiller, but it doesn't hurt. My suggestion is to drink as much water as you can, and sit in a very hot, very shallow bath. Pee in the tub, too — a bit gross, yes, but it's _much_ easier to pee that way.

Cranberry ..a lot of it. But your dr. can give you an antibiotic for a UTI while your preg. that's okay for you to take. UTI's can be very dangerous while preg. it can lead in to a kidney infection if left untreated for to long…then it can get into your blood stream it's called "septic" and it's very bad for both you and the baby and can pose quite a threat to the child you need to get on something ASAP if the pain is that bad and make sure you dont' have a kidney infection..back pain..fever..ect..

WHAT??? You didn't get an antibiotic?? There are TONS of antibiotics that are completely safe for you to take and if you TRULY have a UTI, that is the only way to get rid of it…it isn't viral…it needs meds..and like NOW.
You can take Tylenol safely, but if that isn't really working, you really need that anitbiotic to get rid of it (regardless, really.) Call and get one…now.

DRINK CRANBERRY JUICE, AND TAKE TWO REGULAR STRENGTH TYLENOL.

After losing our first baby because of a very bad UTI, I have repeated had problems with them. Home remedy for faster recovery (and faster relief of the pain) and prevention is to drink a glass of d-mannose everyday. If you don't like the taste of d-mannose , there are d-mannose extract pills that are also very helpful such as Cran-ease and Cran-aid. With my second successful pregnancy, my OB recomended the pills and they were much easier to take on a queasy stomach. Good Luck!

Your doctor should have prescribed you an antibiotic. Thats what you need to get rid of the infection. In addition, the doctor will usually prescribe some pills which turn your urine orange but they help ease the pain.
Go to the ER or make an appointment to get the proper medicine to clear up this infection.
You should only be drinking lots of WATER and pure CRANBERRY JUICE.
***And no sex until about a week after the infection is gone. Make sure you take all of your medicine***

Im 29 weeks pregnant – I had a UTI weeks ago and I have been prone to UTI's since childhood.
omigod i know the pain. i love d-mannose ; go to a vitmin store or health food place and get d-mannose pills. also, STAY AWAY FROM POP! dark colored pops are the worst, but avoid them all for now. drink lots of water. i can assure you, if you stay away from junk food for one day and drink at least 6 glasses of water throughout the day, your bladder infection will be gone by tomorrow. oh and don't have sex.
and to ease the pain, take a hot bath with epsom salts in it.

Did they give you antibiotics? I was always told to drink lots of water..lots. Also, drink d-mannose and Vit C (Halls makes just Vit C hard Candies) also helps get rid of the bacteria in the tract. I get them so bad I am in the hospital and the pain is something horrible. Drink to help flush out your system and get your antibiotics and don't forget some yogurt so you don't get a yeast infection.

Cranberry ….I have no idea why it works but it does so I don't ask questions. lol. When I had a kidney infection, that's what my doctor told me to get. Get one with as little added sugar and water as possible so that the is more consentrated.
