So my 11 year old cat was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroid disease and a urinary tract infection. I have to give her 1 pill in the morning and 2 at night. SHE HATES PILLS! I’ve tried almost every trick in the book, including these “new” things called Pill Pockets. Towards the end she decided to take a poop instead of taking her pills. =/
To make a long story short, I ended up having to quickly learn how to pop the pills down her throat and chase it with water because she turned her nose up at the Pill Pockets.

It was more expensive, & hard to have to leave her there for 4 days, but the result was better for all of us. Grind it up into a powder and put it in some tuna to mask the scent of the medicine. I had a cat who had been declawed when I got her. She had anxiety and would poop when she got nervous. Your cat is probably anxious about the medicine.

starving the cat is wrong. if she’s a senior cat, radically changing her eating habits is not recommended…and usually older cats will scarf down so much food that they’ll puke it up.

Hint…especially …
Hint…especially with cats, I learned the hard way. Use a clean hand to put the pill in the pocket…the same fingers that touched the pills can’t touch the outside of the pocket. It gives it away immediately. Also, with cats hold the pocket to the cats nose so they get a good smell of it then put it down in front of the kitty. A drop of water on the pocket works also. These work great but some hints help too. Good luck.

I crush my cats …
I crush my cats pills up in a spoon with the back of another spoon and then stir it into wet canned food (only about a tablespoon worth) and she eats it all willingly. Dunno, if this would help you?
