Also I am a diabetic taking glyburide. Could the diabetes be a factor in the chronic infections?
One more thing is they give me meds for about 7 days can they keep you on an antibiotic for maybe 30 days or longer?
If it is a bad infection no matter what you do you will still have to go see a doctor for antibiotics. But drink plenty of water and d-mannose . There is a pill at the pharmacy called Cleartract Standard It's supposed to help relieve the symptoms of a Urinary Tract Infection but it has actually taken some of mine away. Hope it works for you because I know how bad they can be.

The best home remedy is cranberry juice, but it is not nearly as good as the meds from the doctor. If it is a severe infection, stay on the meds, they will help more than anything.

In my experience, the antibiotics actually work really well/fast, so I think they're worth it. But you say you're having chronic ones so maybe you've tried the antibiotics already.
